Eastham Windmill Weekend
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009The photo above is from our Inn at the Oaks float in the Eastham Windmill Weekend Parade September 2007. We had a great time and so did the kids. The theme of the parade was broadway, so we chose the Wizard of Oz. The kids dressed up as the characters (the little fairy is really Glenda the good fairy princess). We had lots of fun. Windmill Weekend is Eastham’s Celebration at the end of each summer. The celebration is the weekend after Labor Day. This year it falls late, September 11/12/13. There is lots going on from a Car Show (which Don usually enters his 1946 Allis Chalmers), Sand Art Contest at First Encounter Beach, childrens games on the green, Square Dancing, cookout, road race, parade and much much more. The Parade goes right down Route 6 past the Inn. If you find yourself on the Cape that Sunday afternoon come and watch the parade at the Inn. The Committee is currentlly planning this years activities if you would like to find out more please visit their website at http://www.easthamwindmillweekend.com/index.html. The theme for 2009 is “By the Sea, By the Beautiful Sea”. Come join us for Eastham Windmill Weekend, Fun for all!
